Metal Braces & More
Most patients we treat at our offices in Huntington choose traditional metal braces to straighten their teeth. Metal braces are the most common type of orthodontic treatment at Shiney Smiles Orthodontics, but you have other options, too.
After your first free consultation, Dr. Sheinis will talk to you about which treatment would be right for you based on your unique needs and smile goals.
Fixed Appliances Vs. Removable Appliances
At Shiney Smiles Orthodontics, we believe patients should understand their treatment technology options. First, you should understand the difference between fixed and removable appliances.
At Shiney Smiles Orthodontics, we generally use fixed appliances for comprehensive and serious and treatment.
Fixed appliances, like metal braces, clear braces, and InBraces SmartWire are attached to your teeth and aren’t taken off until you complete your treatment.
Removable appliances, like Invisalign’s aligner system, are worn about 20-22 hours a day but can be taken off easily. Besides the obvious differences, Dr. Sheinis uses clear aligners to treat mild to moderate orthodontic problems.
